The Montessori Method of Education is dedicated to the holistic development of the child. To aid this holistic development a very broad range of topics are presented for the child’s benefit. The children cover a comprehensive language and maths
programme. The children also participate in Practical Life Exercises to develop practical skills that will lead to independence and increased concentration. Sensorial Material is used in the classroom to train the child’s senses. Such exercises include
learning about colour, texture, smell, sound, taste, etc. All of these exercises will encourage the children to become interested in their surroundings and to take note of what is happening around them. All the exercises in the classroom have a purpose and
will provide stimulation for the children while they absorb the purpose of each piece of material. The purpose of each piece of material is to aid the children physical, social, intellectual, emotional and moral development.
